A BURDEN GOD PLACED IN MY HEART

I admit that at first, what got me excited about attending the 5-Day Club being held in my neighborhood was the free snacks served at the end of each meeting. But God used that opportunity to lead me to Him. I was six or seven years old when I first started attending the 5-Day Club led by Teacher Imelda ‘Ems’ Vergara every Sunday. It was there where I believed in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

During the whole year that Teacher Ems taught us, God grew my faith little by little. I remember I would sneak out of the house to attend the classes since my mother didn’t want me and my sister, Jonnabelle, to be involved. But after some time, God worked in my Mom’s heart and she herself would remind and push us to attend the meetings.

Last year, I had a dream in which I saw myself teaching kids and adults. Suddenly, teaching children became a burden that God placed in my heart. Shortly afterward, an announcement was made at church about online training on how to teach children. I signed up immediately. And now, what a joy it is to be teaching children!
