There are two levels under the Instructor of Teachers course. IOT 1 is designed to train new volunteers and full-time CEF instructors to conduct a Teaching Children Effectively™ Level 1 course. IOT 2 is designed to prepare volunteer and full-time CEF instructors of teachers to conduct the Teaching Children Effectively Level 2 course.

Instructor of Teachers 1

Course Objectives

The program is designed to equip Christians from a variety of vocational backgrounds with basic spiritual and educational principles applicable for training both adults and children. Students are strengthened in their presentation of the message of salvation, the evangelistic Bible lesson, the invitation, as well as in their methods of teaching Bible verses and songs to children. This enables them to present model demonstrations to new children’s workers in TCE™ Level 1. Practical teaching techniques and procedures are also presented to enhance the students’ abilities to convey spiritual truths effectively to adults. Emphasis is placed on the role of instructor of teachers, under the control of the Holy Spirit, being used as instruments to produce change.

Course Prerequisites

• One must have satisfactorily completed Teaching Children Effectively Level 1 and preferably Level 2 as well
• A minimum of six months of fruitful service in a weekly Good News Club or equivalent CEF ministry (Example: 5-Day Club®, Party Clubs, camps, etc.)
• Willingness to participate in teaching a minimum of two TCE Level 1 courses within a three-year period to maintain a valid credential. To qualify, the instructor must teach at least five class sessions.

Instructor of Teachers 2

Course Objectives

The program equips Level 2 course instructors to continue their ministry of multiplication by training teachers to go beyond evangelism—to strategically disciple saved children in their classes. This is accomplished as teachers learn to accurately interpret and apply Bible passages that promote spiritual growth. Additionally, classes such as Christian Conduct, Devotional Life and Missions address other areas in which children need further discipleship.

• Must have satisfactorily completed in-class and post-course requirements for Teaching Children Effectively Level 1 and Level 2 and hold a valid credential as a Level 1 Instructor of Teachers.
• Willingness to participate in teaching a minimum of two TCE 1 or 2 courses within a three-year period in order to maintain a valid credential. To qualify, the instructor must teach at least five class sessions.
